With regard to metal quality, it must be a “given” in this day and age that the supplier’s material will meet the customer’s chemical specification. However, we have come to appreciate over the years that the cleanliness of the metal plays a major part in the production of good castings. With this in mind P. Carney Ltd has invested heavily in reaching a position whereby we produce top quality material. We utilise the best process technologies in the secondary aluminium ingot production industry in the area of metal fluxing and degassing, metal pouring / casting, metal filtration and metal cleanliness and gas content testing.
In the past we have enlisted the services of Professor John Campbell, who has assisted and advised us during his visits to our plant. Professor Campbell is renowned world wide for his vast knowledge in metal casting techniques and much of his research work and knowledge has been published over the years.
We have also worked with N-Tec Ltd (a metals laboratory in the UK) who have advised on physical aspects of our processes and who also have carried out independent tests on our material.
